    Tagliolini with Fresh Basil Pesto, Green Beans and Potato

    Pesto is a sauce originating in Genoa, which is located in the northern region of Italy. It originated around the 16th century and traditionally consists of crushed garlic, basil and pine nuts blended with Parmesan cheese and olive oil.

    INGREDIENTS

    Flour, Semolina Flour, Egg, Basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Pine Nuts, Parmesan, Garlic, Potato & Green Beans.

    COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

    Step 1: Bring pot of salted water to the boil.

    Step 2: Cut open the bag of pesto and empty all of its contents into a serving bowl.

    Step 3: Boil the Tagliolini along with potatoes and green beans for 3-4 minutes depending on how al dente you wish to have it.

    Step 4: Once pasta is cooked, reserve some pasta water before straining and add 2 tbsp of pasta water to the pesto.

    Step 5: Mix the pasta, potato and green beans with the sauce, making sure the pesto evenly coats all the pasta.

    Step 6: Plate up the dish and finish off with parmesan.

    TIPS: Remember to save some pasta water as this will help you loosen up your sauce if needed. Pesto does not require heat from the stove or pan to cook. The heat from the pasta water and Tagliolini is sufficient.
